Welcome Back to the Present Technology

When I left my last job I was saddened to have to walk away from my work iPad. I had gotten used to the versatility it offered me in doing groups and 1:1 visits. between very simple instruments anyone can successfully play with minor motions of the fingers, to great background relaxation noises to play underneath my live playing of the Native American Flute, to easily pulling up videos or pictures from the internet to use in sensory groups and 1:1 visits, or pulling up fast chord charts or sheet music to fulfill requests. The iPad I had used belonged to the facility so naturally when I left the job I had to give it back.

Tonight I have rejoined modern technology. I bought myself an iPad. I also go the keyboard portfolio case for it, which is what I am using right now to blog this. I'm getting used to the small keyboard and have installed some of the apps I remember having on my work iPad. I'm looking through different postings of the must-have iPad apps for Music Therapy. Garage Band was the first one I added.

So, I pose the question to you, What iPad apps do you find most useful in your practice. I am particularly interested in what apps Music Therapists are using with older adults, dementia care, and hospice as those are the areas in which I work most closely.

Meanwhile  I'm going to keep exploring my new tool/toy.
